Mistress Derbhiled’s Pearl scroll- 1999

This is based on the frontispiece from a gospel made in the second quarter of the eighth century, probably at Echternach Abbey, according to Christopher de Hamel in his book <i>A History of Illuminated Manuscripts.</i> Materials were Winsor & Newton Designer Gouache on Pergamenata paper, and Sumi ink with a metal- nib dip pen.
