The Tragic Tale of Livia’s Ditch

Lyrics by Lady Rosanella Vespucci

‘Twas a dark and stormy day
In the sun at Pennsic one day.
Two fair and comely damsels go
On their way to a gathering there.
The road was icy and cold
Up hill both ways they did go,
The fair and comely ladies
As they walked to a Pennsic affair.
Lady Livia, fair and just
Skipping and singing so sweet,
Came to a cavern there.
She tripped and fell off her feet.
She flung her hand
To her dear friend
“Alas, I am falling to wit!”
But Sunneva de Cleia
Pushed her into the ditch.
Sunneva de Cleia
With way too much glee-a,
Then struck a match to flame.
She lighted her friend
Hoping it was the end,
And Livia was one hot dame.
But then as she fried,
Sunneva felt sad inside
Not wanting her friend to die.
So she pulled up her dress
And proceeded to wet
To hurriedly put out the fire.
Now at Pennsic they say
There’s a sign on the way,
To mark dear Livia’s ditch;
And Sunneva, they say
Still remains to this day
A serious kind of a….
Friend.
